First Kill was published in the anthology Vampires Never Get Old: Tales with Fresh Bite that was released last month. Schwab will be a writer for the eight episode series and will also be an executive producer. The showrunner will be Empire’s Felicia D. Henderson, who will also be serving as a writer and executive producer. Emma Roberts and Karah Preiss will be producing the show as well, through their company Belletrist Productions.

First Kill follows teenage vampire Juliette and  teen vampire hunter Caillope, as each attempt to kill each other and take their place among their prestigious families. However, things get difficult when both girls realize the other isn’t as easy to kill as they thought, and to make things even more complicated, they start to fall for each other.
