Deadline has reported that several actors are confirmed to star in the upcoming Resident Evil reboot. Joining the cast are Kaya Scodelario (The Maze Runner), Robbie Amell (Upload), Hannah John-Kamen (Ant-Man and the Wasp), Tom Hopper (The Umbrella Academy), Avan Jogia (Zombieland: Double Tap), and Neal McDonough (Arrow).

The new reboot will take fans back to the video games. It’s set to be an adaptation offering an original origin story that takes place in 1998, “on a fateful night in Raccoon City.” Johannes Roberts (47 Meter Downs) is attached to write and direct, with Robert Kulzer (the original Resident Evil franchise) and James Harris to produce.

The Resident Evil franchise has had a long and successful run, cementing its legacy in both the video game world and the movie world. Though we still don’t know much about the upcoming reboot, we’re excited to see how it continues to add to franchise! Along with the movie reboot, Resident Evil will receive the television treatment with a new show from Netflix. Find more details here.
