Alex Morf is returning to his former city! The Gotham actor has been cast in the upcoming season of The CW’s Batwoman as the villain Victor Zsasz, Entertainment Weekly exclusively learned. Zsasz is “a charismatic, skilled hitman with high, unpredictable energy. He proudly carves tally marks onto his skin for every victim he kills.” The news comes just after Leah Gibson and Nathan Owens were announced to recur as Tatiana and Ocean, respectively, and Shivaani Ghai announced to recur as Safiyah Sohail. Morf will also be joining new lead, Javicia Leslie.
Although filming has started for season two, production has reportedly shut down due to COVID testing delays in British Columbia, where the show shoots in Vancouver. Batwoman, Riverdale, Nancy Drew, and Charmed have been affected by delays, but production is expected to resume later this week.
Morf played gang leader Sykes on FOX’s Gotham and has also appeared on Mindhunter, Manifest and Marvel’s Daredevil.
Season two of Batwoman is set to premiere in early 2021 on The CW, with season one streaming on both The CW app for free and HBO Max.
