It’s that time again, fellow game nerds. Here are the games for the upcoming month and some things that have recently happened in gaming. What a time it is for gaming! We now have the release dates for the latest Xbox and PlayStation 5 consoles. There is so much to look forward to.
Regardless of the platform you use — PlayStation (PS), Xbox (XBO), Nintendo Switch (NS) Computer (PC), etc. — there is a game for you to get into. Here is a list of some of the video games getting released this month.
October 1
Super Mario Bros. 35 (NS)
“Be the last. Mario. Standing.” Players will race the clock to battle enemies, collect coins, power-ups, and more.
Ys Origin (NS)
Demons have come to paradise land Ys, which is ruled by twin Goddesses Reah and Feena. With the Black Pearl, they could use magic and raise a temple to the sky to escape the demons. Players choose between three characters, Yunica Tovah, Hugo Fact, and The Claw. Each has their own fighting style to find the missing Goddesses. To do that, they must enter the Devil’s Tower.
October 2
Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time (PS4, XBO)
Crash and Coco are saving the day once again from Neo Cortex and N. Tropy, who are wreaking havoc on the multiverse. Using new abilities, bringing the four Quantum Masks together, bending reality, alternate dimensions, bosses, more playable character, and more: this game has it all.
Let’s Sing Queen (PS4, XBO, NS)
Players will be able to step into the role of the legendary lead singer of Queen, Freddie Mercury. It will feature 30 of their hits including, “Another One Bites the Dust,” “We Are The Champions,” “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “Bicycle Race,” and more.
Star Wars: Squadrons Pre-order (PC, PS4, XBO)
With pre-ordering, fans will get some skins, decals, and flight suits. Fly alongside the squadron and learn what it takes to be a pilot.
October 5
Foregone (PS4, XBO, NS)
With the devastating war over, the city of Calagan finds itself under attack once again, this time by the Harrow. Players are the strongest super-soldier investigating where the Harrow come from. But the Harrow is bringing back the dead and memories that should stay buried. Can you save Calagan?

Nickelodeon Kart Racers 2: Grand Prix (PS4, NS, XBO)
Time to race with some of your favorite Nickelodeon characters and fight your way to the finish line. There are up to 30 playable characters, 70 secondary characters, 28 tracks, two arenas, and more. Who will you choose?

Game Dev Tycoon (NS)
Have you ever wanted to build your own garage? Well, know you can. Players make the decisions and grow their company where you can have an office and hire staff.
Ikenfell (PC, PS4, XBO, NS)
The most famous student from the school has gone missing. Players go through the school’s halls that are filled with magic, puzzles, creatures, secrets, and treasure.
Ride 4 (PC, PS4, XBO)
“Get ready to break the boundaries between game and reality.” There are realistic looking bikes to choose from and race like a pro. Players can start in the Regional League, making their way up to the World Leagues, your choices deciding your path. The tracks change between day and night with various weather.
October 9
Ben 10: Power Trip (PC, PS4, XBO, NS)
On a European vacation with his family, Ben goes up against the evil magician Hex, who unleashed the four mysterious crystals. The only one who can break the curse is Ben 10, his friend Gwen, and his grandpa Max. Players will fight against enemies, solve puzzles, and explore.
FIFA 21 (PC, PS4, XBO)
Players can build their dream team and go between professional and prestige levels. This game features an all-new street football experience. Players can go through the career mode and see where it will take them.
Dirt 5 (PC, PS4, XBO)
If you pre-order this game, players can get the Ford F-150 Raptor PreRunner by Deberti Design. This latest version of the off-road game features over 70 routes in 10 locations. Players can race from New York to Italy in the journey to be the best.
October 13
G.I. Joe: Operation Blackout (PC, PS4, XBO, NS)
Players can choose a character from Team G.I. Joe or Team Cobra and either fight to save the world or take it over.
October 15
Age of Empires 3: Definitive Edition (PC)
In this game, players command mighty civilizations across Europe, the Americas, and Asia. This version has two new game modes of Historical Battles and The Art of War Challenge Missions while still having everything from the previous games.
Cloudpunk (PS4, XBO, NS)
It is in the title, Cloudpunk is a semi-legal delivery company in the city of Nivalis. Players take the role of Rania, and it is your first night on the job. On the job, you meet various characters, including androids, AI, and humans. “Everyone has a story, and in the course of one night in Nivalis, everything will change.”
Monster Truck Championship (PC, PS4, XBO)
Go up against experienced drivers in Orlando all the way to the lights of Las Vegas. Players can customize the trucks that they pick from one of the 16 types available. Then it is time to do wheelies, doughnuts, and race.
Space Crew (PC, PS4, XBO, NS)
“Your crew needs you.” It is time to recruit a space crew of comms officer, weapons officer, engineer, and captain. Then it is time to personalize the spaceships armor, weapons, escape pods, and then defend the Earth.
October 16
Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit (NS)
The course of the game is the player’s home. The Nintendo Switch is the controller of the kart as it races around the house. Want to make it more interesting, build a course and obstacles in the real world and see it come to life.
NHL 21 (PS4, XBO)
Players can become their favorite NHL player and use their signature moves and shots in the journey to take home the Stanley Cup. Players can take their place with the greats and change up moves, dekes, and evasive maneuvers.
October 20
Remothered: Broken Porcelain (PC, PS4, XBO, NS)
In this next chapter of the horror game, players try to find what is buried in the Ashmann Inn. Stalkers, hunters, and traps guard those secrets, and players have to survive the dangers.
October 23
Transformers: Battlegrounds (PC, PS4, XBO, NS)
Megatron is getting closer to the AllSpark. BumbleBee and the other Autobots look to the player as their new commander to help them save the Earth.
October 27
Trails of Cold Steel 4 (PS4)
To talented young men and women transcend the boundaries of status and fight the darkness of night to bring the light back to how it was before. Characters in the game include Juna Crawford, Kurt Vander, Altina Orion, Musse Egret, and Ash Carbide.
Cobra Kai: The Karate Kid Saga Continues (PS4, XBO)
Master the moves, choose a side, and give in to destiny. Players can choose from eight playable characters with their own fighting styles. It takes place 34 years after the events of the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament. Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence are still rivals and trying to beat the other.
October 28
Gibbous (NS)
Detective Don R. Ketype must get the mysterious evil tome, but before he can, the librarian finds it and accidentally transforms his cat, Kitteh, into a walking, talking creature. Players travel around the world to deal with the creatures, voodoo, and other creations. “From Lovecraft Country to Transylvania, set off on a quest to get a very cynical cat to stop talking.”
October 29
Watch Dogs Legion (PC, PS4, XBO, Stadia)
It is time players, build resistance with all those you come across during hacking, infiltrating, and fighting to reclaim London. Welcome to the Resistance.
Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War (PC, PS4, XBO)
At the height of the Cold War in the 1980s, players go to fight in grueling battles. Some of the battlegrounds featured include East Berlin, Vietnam, Soviet KGB Headquarters, Turkey, and several more that have yet to be revealed.
Song of Horror: Complete Edition (PS4, XBO)
Players will have to stay vigilant and hide while going through a creepy place that is still filled with spirits and lost souls.

Pikmin 3 Deluxe (NS)
Pikmin are tiny and ant-like. Players command and crop with five different types of Pikmin to overcome mazes and more.
The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope (PC, PS4, XBO)
“Haunted by the events of the 17th-century Andover Witch Trials, escape the nightmarish apparitions of Little Hope.”
October 31
Auto Chess (PS4)
It is a game of strategy. Ten different players battle at random, and when they lose, their health bar goes down. When it is at zero, they are gone from the game.
