America’s favorite family is coming back sooner than expected! Season five of NBC’s hit drama This Is Us will be premiering on Tuesday, October 27 instead of its original date of November 10. NBC announced the change during a commercial that ran during the season finale of America’s Got Talent. The season-opener will still be two hours long.
Production on the fifth season started this week. The season will tackle life during the Coronavirus pandemic “head-on,” series creator Dan Fogelman confirmed on Twitter. Also included in season five will be an excavation of Randall’s past and viewers will learn why Kate started using food as a coping mechanism. If fans can remember, season four ended with a heated fight between Randall and Kevin. When Sterling K. Brown recently appeared on The Talk, he teased the argument won’t have abated by the time season five rolls around, saying “So hopefully, we get a chance to see how they build their way back to each other…But it’s not going to be easy.”
Season five of This Is Us premieres on NBC on Tuesday, October 27 with a two-hour episode. The first four seasons are currently streaming on Hulu.
