Shudder has dropped a major surprise for horror fans — Kiefer Sutherland (24, Designated Survivor) and Joey King (The Kissing Booth) are lending their voices to The Creepshow Halloween Special, a two-story animated special that is based on stories by Stephen King and Joe Hill at Shudder.
Sutherland is set to star in “Survivor Type”, based on Stephen King’s short story that will be adapted by Greg Nicotero. Sutherland will play a man that is stranded on a deserted island, determined to stay alive no matter the cost.
The second story in the special which stars King, “Twittering from the Circus of the Dead”, based on the short by Joe Hill that will be adapted by Melanie Dale, sees King as a teen on a family road trip that contains a trip to the gravest show on Earth.
In a statement to the press, Nicotero, who pulled off the special in place of season 2 of Creepshow that got halted due to Covid-19, said: “Halloween wouldn’t be complete without Creepshow, so with the help of the father and son team of Stephen & Joe as well as a fantastic animated format, we get to continue the tradition and spirit of Halloween.”
The Creepshow Halloween Special premieres October 26 on Shudder.
