Finally, joining the Lifetime channel’s yearly lengthy holiday movie list is its first-holiday movie with an LGBTQ+ couple. The film titled The Christmas Setup will star married couple Ben Lewis (Arrow) and Blake Lee (Wisdom of the Crowd).

According to Lifetime, the movie will follow New York lawyer Hugo (Lewis), who goes to Milwaukee to spend the holidays with his mom with his best friend Madelyn (Ellen Wong). Seeing this as her opportunity, Hugo’s mom Kate (Fran Drescher), makes it so he will run into his secret crush and high school friend Patrick (Lee). They hit it off, and things seem to go well, but Hugo gets a promotion offer, making him decide between them.

GLAAD, who “tackles tough issues to shape the narrative and provoke dialogue that leads to cultural change,” will be working closely with the network. On the non-profit organization’s website, they have resources, events, a blog, and more.

While casting is still being done, we know it will also star Fran Drescher (Happily Divorced) and Ellen Wong (GLOW). Keep an eye out for more information about The Christmas Setup as it becomes available.
