If what you know lets you down, then perhaps what you don’t know is the answer.

It is time to RSVP yes for Valentine’s Day, 2021. Marry Me will be walking down the aisle to theaters (hopefully) next year. The film is based on the 2008 graphic novel of the same name by Bobby Crosby. It will also be the Latin musician Maluma’s feature-film debut, who will also have some original music included along with co-star Jennifer Lopez.

Lopez will portray musical star Kat Valdez who is all set to get married to fellow musician Bastian (Maluma). The couple has a top hit single, “Marry Me,” and will be holding their wedding ceremony in front of their fans on stage for the world to see. Before Kat is to go on stage to get married, she finds out that her beau has cheated on her with her assistant no less. So, what is a girl to do? Why, go on stage and have a freakout and impulsively marry a guy from the crowd. That guy is Charlie (Owen Wilson), a math teacher who is divorced. “Can two people from such different worlds bridge the gulf between them and build a place where they both belong?” Fans will have to go to the movie to find out if they get their happily ever after.

Marry Me features Jennifer Lopez, who is also one of the producers, Owen Wilson, Maluma, Chloe Coleman, John Bradley, Sarah Silverman, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Kat Cunning, and Jimmy Fallon. The writers of the adaption screenplay are John Rogers, Tami Sagher, and Harper Dill. The film is directed by Kat Coiro and produced by Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, Benny Medina, and John Rogers. With Alex Brown, Willie Mercer, Pamela Thur, and J.B. Roberts executive producing.
