Showtime has released the first trailer for the comedy series, Moonbase 8. The series is created, written, and produced by John C. Reilly, Fred Armisen, and Tim Heidecker, and it even also stars the comedic trio. The trailer was purposefully released on the day that commemorates JFK’s “We choose to go to the moon” speech from 58 years ago. The trailer even features part of that speech as we view the characters partaking in basic astronaut training before things take a comedic turn. Showtime describes the series as follows:

Set in the isolated desert of Winslow, Arizona, at NASA’s Moon Base Simulator, Moonbase 8 follows eager astronauts Skip (Fred Armisen), Rook (Tim Heidecker), and their leader Cap (John C. Reilly) as they attempt to qualify for their first lunar mission. While working vigorously to complete their training, a series of unexpected circumstances force the astronauts to question their mental sanity, trust in each other, and whether or not they’re cut out for space travel.

Moonbase 8 season one will consist of six half-hour episodes and will premiere on Showtime this fall. Check out the trailer below.
