Neve Campbell will Return to the ‘Scream’ Franchise

Scream fans rejoice!

Neve Campbell, who is best known for her role as Sidney Prescott in the Scream franchise, will return to reprise her fifth installment role. Fan’s of the slasher franchise had been waiting with bated breath ever since the fifth movie announcement. While there had been speculation of Campbell’s return, nothing had been confirmed, but that all changed when Campbell made an official announcement via her Instagram account.

Campbell had played Sidney, the series protagonist in the other four films. She will also be joined by franchise veterans Courteney Cox (Gale Weathers) and David Arquette (Dewy Riley). Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett will direct the fifth Scream installment. Scream 5 will be the first film in the franchise, not directed by the late Wes Craven.

Scream 5 is set to be released on January 14, 2022.
