What better way to celebrate the highly anticipated season 2 premiere of the hit series The Boys than with a special drive-in event?

Last night, The Boys stars Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Karen Fukuhara, Shantel VanSanten, Claudia Doumit, Langston Kerman, Abraham Lim and more were on-site at Level 8 at The Grove in Los Angeles, California for a special drive-in screening of the first two episodes of season 2, hosted by Amazon Prime Video! The screening began with a pre-taped introduction from the cast and executive producers Eric Kripke, Seth Rogen, and Evan Goldberg.

Nothing is ever short of diabolical when this show is involved, because cars entered the event through Lucy the Whale, a short-lived yet memorable character from the third episode. After their arrival, guests participated in a socially distant pre-party in their cars — they took photos at the drive-through photo-op activation, danced along to the music of DJ Michelle Pesce, and feasted on Umami burgers, popcorn, and Swedish Fish.

An encore drive-in screening for cast and fans is being held tonight, Friday, September 4. It is currently at full capacity.

The Boys follows a group of wayward vigilantes, fighting back against the twisted Supes that the world has been fooled into idolizing. After an explosive first season, season 2 finds our leader, Billy Butcher, thrown off-kilter by the knowledge that his wife is still alive … and has a son. The Boys have found themselves in hot water, having pushed a few buttons too many with Vought, the Supes, and the law. Meanwhile, things are tense among The Seven as Homelander’s plans are ruffled by the arrival of the newest member of the team, Stormfront. To top it all off, Supervillains are an emerging issue … because, why not?

The first three episodes of season 2 of The Boys are now available on Amazon Prime Video. Check out our spoiler-free review of the episodes here, and stay tuned for our weekly recaps! Episode 4 will premiere on Friday, September 11.
