Eight months after the first season was released on Netflix, The Witcher fans are finally getting new content.
On Twitter, Netflix announced a 32 minute behind-the-scenes special exploring how the hit Netflix series was created and dives deeper into the story of the show’s fantasy world.

The short documentary also includes interviews with stars Henry Cavill, Anya Chalotra, and Freya Allan, as well as showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich.
Based on a series a books, The Witcher follows the stories of Geralt of Rivia (Cavill), Yennefer of Vengerberg (Chalotra), and Ciri Princess of Cintra (Allan) as they navigate through mystical creatures and the idea of destiny.
The Witcher hit small screens on Netflix in December 2019 and quickly became a global hit. The publishing company for the original books by Andrzej Sapkowski even had to print half a million new copies because the demand was so high.
Season 2 started filming earlier this year, however it was suspended in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, Netflix has given the go-ahead to resume production. As of right now, it’s still set to be released in 2021.
