The city of Townsville: home of the Powerpuff Girls and now The CW’s newest show. The network is currently developing a live-action series of the beloved cartoon! Diablo Cody (Juno) and Heather Regnier (Sleepy Hollow) will serve as writers and executive producers. Greg Berlanti (Supergirl), Sarah Schechter (The Flash) and David Madden (President, Berlanti Productions) will also serve as producers.

The show follows the three sisters Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup long after they were exposed to Chemical X in Professor Utonium’s own house and used their powers to fight crime in Townsville. The girls eventually decide to give up on the superhero gig when they realize they aren’t like the other kids that attend the same school. This show will follow what happens years later when the girls must go back to doing what they do best: fight crime. The premiere date for the show is currently unknown.
