First Trailer for Season 7 of ‘The Flash’ Released During DC FanDome

As one of the many shows not due to return until midseason 2021, The Flash is keeping fans occupied until then with the first official trailer of season 7 released during DC FanDome over the weekend. Production on The CW’s highest-rated series paused in the middle of season 6 due due to the Coronavirus pandemic, making episode 19 the season finale. The series had started shooting episode 20 when the shutdown happened, and now the footage is being used for the first trailer of season 7.

Check out the trailer below!

Season six’s makeshift finale saw Eva McCulloch escaping the Mirrorverse and framing Sue Dearbon for her husband’s murder, nearly defeating Barry and Team Flash. Iris, however, was still in the Mirrorverse and the episode ended with her disappearing. But to where, fans will just have to wait until season 7 to find out. The trailer not only shows previous footage from the final aired episodes of season 6 but also teases the return of season three’s Top, who has an interesting conversation with Cecile. Barry also desperately tries to build an artificial Speed Force in order to get his speed back and to stop Eva, and a super-sonic plane is headed towards Central City. Iris, already on the brink of breaking, is now getting worse as her broken mind is taunting her with the prospect of never escaping the Mirrorverse and reuniting with Barry and her friends.

During DC FanDome, showrunner Eric Wallace talked about the season 7 teaser, saying, “Even though it’s only footage really from one episode [620], pay attention to the way it’s represented. It’s actually huge spoilers all over the place.”

The first six seasons of The Flash are streaming now on Netflix, with season 7 due to premiere sometime during midseason in 2021 only on The CW.
