Coheed and Cambria Collaborate With Rick Springfield for “Jessie’s Girl 2”

On August 21, progressive rock group Coheed and Cambria released a new single called “Jessie’s Girl 2” with musician Rick Springfield, who sang the original iconic “Jessie’s Girl” in 1981. They also released a music video to go along with the song, as well as a merchandise line that includes a limited edition 7″ vinyl available in blue and red, a t-shirt, a hat, buttons, and a poster. You can purchase merch here.

The music video features Springfield, a bartender who works at a bar called — wait for it — Springfield’s Bar. As Coheed performs the song via TV screens in the bar, a couple walks in, throwing Springfield off as he’s reminded of the woman he could never be with all those years ago. The video is shot creatively, a majority of it in a standard live-action way mixed with shots closer to a cartoon style. You’ll also want to watch until the very end.

Watch the music video below, and stream “Jessie’s Girl 2” wherever you listen to music.
