Get the bat signal ready! Ben Affleck is putting on the cape and mask once again and reprising his role as Batman in the upcoming film The Flash. According to Vanity Fair, Affleck got the script at the end of last week and agreed to join the project this week.

The Flash is scheduled to come out in the summer of 2022. The movie is an adaptation of DC’s 2011 comic book series Flashpoint, which was also a crossover. The film will star Ezra Miller as the lightning fast superhero.

Affleck was originally cast as Batman the 2016 film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. He later appeared in Suicide Squad and Justice League before stepping away from the role. His role in The Flash will not disrupt the upcoming The Batman film starring Robert Pattinson, who is now the future of the franchise. That film is set to be released October 2021.
