After some delays because of COVID-19, we are getting closer to the release date for this classic 1998 Disney retelling. In the live-action version, it will still follow the plot of Mulan wanting to protect her ailing father from having to fight in the Imperial Army. To do this, she takes his place, disguising herself as a man. Director Niki Caro is taking fans in a behind-the-scenes video!

In the video, she talks about how Yifei Liu is the only one who could have played Mulan and inspired them. “I will bring honor to us all.”

Mulan stars Liu Yifei as Fa Mulan, Donnie Yen as Commander Tung, Li Gong as Xianniang, and Jet Li as the Emperor. The song “Reflection” sung by Christina Aguilera, of course, is going to be featured in the movie as well. You can read the information and see the new music video here.

You can watch the beautiful story of the warrior Mulan beginning September 4 on the Disney+ streaming service for an extra fee.
