As part of Deadline’s Contenders: Television series, Normal People star Paul Mescal and director Lenny Abrahamson discussed the hit Hulu limited series. Both are nominated for their work on the series at the upcoming Emmy Awards. Mescal shares what it has been like experiencing the success of the series, especially since this is his first role on screen. Abrahamson discusses his reasoning behind taking the job as well as the differences between his work in film and his work on this show.
