It looks as if Ren and Stimpy are finally making a comeback!

Comedy Central has finally given the go-ahead on a reboot of the classic Nicktoon, nearly twenty years after the show last aired. The reboot will consist of a more modern day revision of the characters designed for a new era of children. Not many other details have been released, including when the show will air, how many episodes will be broadcast, or who will be involved in the writing or production of the show.

We do know with Comedy Central taking the reigns, the show is expected to take more of an adult animation shift rather than the typical Nickelodeon approach. I’m sure we are all excited to see if Ren and Stimpy will be the controversial show we all knew and loved.

The Ren and Stimpy Show will be the latest addition to Viacom’s list of adult animations, which include Beavis and Butthead and the Daria spin-off Jodie. Stay tuned for more information!
