Another cult classic movie is coming to the small screen. The red-haired doll that happens to be possessed by a serial killer is back. Chucky, from the 1988 horror movie Child’s Play, is back to his old tricks in this straight-to-series order.

The TV series Chucky will be created by Don Mancini, who is also the one that wrote the film franchise that saw six sequels after the first movie. The creepy doll, which will be voiced by Brad Dourif once again, is possessed by the spirit of serial killer Charles Lee Ray by a voodoo ritual. It is currently unknown if any familiar faces will make any appearances as of yet, but if so, I hope it includes Jennifer Tilly. Chucky will evolve and get a chance to use some more modern technology like social media.

The trailer shows the familiar doll with a knife in hand, laughing that familiar chilling laugh. The official premise of the series is:

“A small town is terrorized by a string of murders following the appearance of a vintage Chucky doll at a yard sale. Friends and enemies from Chuck’s past may reveal the truth behind the killings and shed light on the doll’s untold origins.”
