The upcoming dark comedy thriller Spree, directed by Eugene Kotlyarenko (Wobble Place, 0s & 1’s), first made its way through Sundance Film Festival 2020. Months later, RLJE Films has announced that the film will be available in theaters, on digital, and On Demand starting August 14.
The all-star cast features Joe Keery (Stranger Things), Sasheer Zamata (I Feel Pretty), David Arquette (Scream), Kyle Mooney (Brigsby Bear, Zoolander 2), Mischa Barton (The O.C.), Frankie Grande (Indoor Boys, Henry Danger), John DeLuca (Teen Beach Movie), and LaLa Kent (Vault, 10 Minutes Gone).
Spree follows Kurt Kunkle who is a rideshare driver determined to go viral and sit atop a social media empire. Kurt soon finds a very killer way to become a social media star by quite literally murdering his passengers via livestream. During the midst of the chaos, Kurt crosses paths with Jessie (Zamata), a stand-up comedian with her own agenda on how to get him to put an end to his misguided carnage.
