‘The Boys’ Didn’t Start the Fire (Spoiler Alert: The Supes Did) in Season 2 Teaser Trailer

“Don’t you worry … Daddy’s home.”

Get ready to strap in for another absolutely bonkers ride with season 2 of Amazon Prime Video’s The Boys.

Following a bloody diabolical first season last summer, the second season of The Boys will find our favorite wayward vigilantes on the run from the law as they’re being hunted down by the vengeful Supes. With Billy Butcher MIA, Hughie, Mother’s Milk, Frenchie, and Kimiko must regroup and figure out how to proceed in their fight against the corrupt Vought.

Speaking of those terrible Supes, Annie, aka Starlight, is working on finding her place among The Seven while Homelander tries to take complete control. However, those plans are seemingly thrown off kilter when a new Supe that’s a threat to Homelander’s power rolls into town — Stormfront.

And because nothing can ever be easy for the poor souls that reside in the universe of this show, Supervillains are also a thing and they’ve begun to take center stage, thanks to Vought. How exactly they differ from the twisted Supes remains to be seen, but perhaps they’ll all collectively do everyone a favor and wipe one another off the map.

Following the first teaser trailer that was released back in December, a second trailer has now been released for the upcoming second season!

Check it out below.

The trailer opens with the Boys, sans Billy Butcher, looking defeated as they see their wanted posters displayed on television. As revealed yesterday, we now know that Butcher went MIA from the Boys between the end of season 1 and the second episode of season 2 (and his adventures will be getting their own short film, Butcher).

Because this is The Boys that we’re talking about, Billy Joel’s “We Didn’t Start the Fire” (you know, conveniently from that album entitled Storm Front) fades in, providing an upbeat, singsong contrast to the blood, explosions, severed heads, and other various madness that season 2 promises to entail. And Butcher’s dog Terror even makes a brief appearance!

A new poster has also been revealed, which pays homage to the original comic book series.

The first three episodes of season 2 of The Boys will land on Amazon Prime Video on September 4. The remaining 5 episodes will air weekly on Fridays thereafter.
