In September 2018, it was announced that the YA novel Long Way Down by Jason Reynolds would be adapted into a graphic novel. Reynolds will still write the text, with illustrations by Danica Novgorodoff. Today, Reynolds, in partnership with Book Riot, revealed the graphic novel’s gorgeous cover, which you can find below.

Long Way Down was released in October 2017. Written in verse, the book follows 15-year-old Will, gun tucked into his waistband, as he sets out to get revenge for the murder of his brother Shawn, because where he’s from, there’s only revenge; “No crying. No snitching. Revenge.” He heads out and gets on the elevator. Each chapter is dedicated to each floor the elevator stops at, and each time, someone connected to Shawn steps on the elevator, giving Will little bits of information about his brother. Long Way Down is a forceful and engaging story that you’ll refuse to leave until it’s finished.

Long Way Down: The Graphic Novel will release October 13. Pre-order your copy here.
