Ease on down, ease on down the road.

The Youtube channel The Shows Must Go On! has been streaming show tunes, backstage access, and full performances from favorite musicals across history such as Cats, Hairspray, and Phantom of the Opera since March of 2020. The channel recently planned to cancel this week’s show as a gesture of solidarity with the Black Lives Matter Movement, but later reconsidered, choosing to stream The Wiz Live! on Friday, June 12.

The Wiz Live! originally aired on NBC in 2015 as a new adaptation of the original 1975 Broadway musical, The Wiz. The production is a soul/R&B adaptation of the classic novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum and has historically featured a star-packed, all-black cast.

Tune in below for a sneak peek! The Wiz Live! will be streamed Friday, June 12th at 11 AM PT and will be available for 48 hours.
