‘The Blacklist’ Season Finale to Be Hybrid Episode

In response the pandemic running amok worldwide, The Blacklist is another show to have filming cut short due COVID-19. A usual season is 22 episodes long, but season 7’s run will only be 19 episodes. In response, the show runners decided to make this season finale more unique than ever seen before. The season 7 finale titled, “The K,” will feature live action scenes from the cast and then animated comic book scenes, which have been voiced by the cast in their respective homes. According to AP News, here is what show creator Jon Bokenkamp had to say about the idea to bring live and animated worlds together:

“It started sort of as a joke, talking about how we should do it (the episode) as an old-school radio broadcast where we put the image of a crackling fire or a radio up on TV and the actors could voice it.”

It made this episode interesting, exciting, and difficult due to the circumstances. Recording at their houses with background noise and getting the episode ready before its May 15 air date pushed the cast and crew to work around the clock to put this together.
