So much for the perfect weekend getaway …

Dave Franco’s directorial debut is just on the horizon, as IFC Films has officially acquired the US rights to his upcoming thriller from Black Bear Pictures, The Rental.

Written by Franco and Joe Swanberg, The Rental follows the story of two couples that book what is seemingly a perfect house online for a weekend getaway. However, the trip takes a turn as secrets between the friends are revealed, and meanwhile … something sinister lurks as the group realizes they may not be alone in the rental house.

The film has a killer cast that includes Alison Brie (GLOW), Dan Stevens (Legion), Jeremy Allen White (Shameless), and Sheila Vand (A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night).
