Vanity Fair Gives First Look at Steven Spielberg’s ‘West Side Story’ Starring Ansel Elgort, Rachel Zegler, Rita Moreno, and More!

With West Side Story set to hit theaters this December, and Vanity Fair is offering an exclusive look at the new film. Directed by Steven Spielberg, this new version of the classic musical stars Ansel Elgort and newcomer Rachel Zegler as Tony and Maria, the star-crossed lovers whose relationship will change their lives and their communities forever. Rita Moreno, who became the first Latina actress to win an Academy Award for her performance in the 1961 film version of West Side Story, will appear in this film in a role written for her and executive produce.

The cast also includes Ariana DeBose, David Alvarez, Corey Stoll, Mike Faist, Curtiss Cook, and Brian d’Arcy James, alongside a large ensemble of dancers portraying members of The Jets and The Sharks. West Side Story will hit theaters on December 18, 2020. Check out the gallery of production stills below!
