After Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resort announced they would close for a month amid the coronavirus outbreak, Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort have followed suit.

Universal announced that it would close beginning March 14 and reopen March 28. Universal CityWalk will reportedly remain open during the closure. The official statement from Universal says:

“The health and safety of our team members and guests is always our top priority.  Out of an abundance of caution and in response to the guidance provided by the California Department of Public Health, Universal Studios Hollywood will temporarily close beginning Saturday, March 14. The theme park anticipates reopening on March 28 as we continue to monitor the situation.”

This news comes after a day of delayed film releases, cancelled conventions, and theme park closures. Nerds and Beyond will continue to provide coverage of closures, cancellations, and postponements in entertainment amid the current outbreak.
