Exciting news, Torchwood fans! Have you been waiting for the latest audio play by Big Finish Productions? Well keep waiting for some great news.

Excitement for new Torchwood adventures reached sky-rocketing heights since the television series was added to BBC iPlayer in February for on demand. The new audio by Big Finish Productions kicks off in April with Tropical Beach Sounds, read by Sir Michael Palin.

Burn Gorman makes his return as Torchwood’s Owen Harper, followed by Gareth David-Lloyd as Ianto Jones called Dinner and a Show. Rowena Cooper reprises her role as is Queen Victoria for July’s story. Cooper has portrayed the character of Queen Victoria in the Torchwood series since 2016. The role was originally portrayed by Pauline Collins in the television Doctor Who series in 2006. David-Lloyd, Eve Myles, Burn Gorman, John Barrowman, and Kai Owen among more have reprised the characters who starred in four years of the hit Doctor Who spin-off Torchwood, played internationally.

Each of these Torchwood releases is now available for download from the Big Finish website for £8.99 or pre-order the collector’s edition CD for £10.99.

James Goss, who is a producer for Big Finish said:

“Grace has written what’s both a quiet character piece about ‘Why is Dr. Owen Harper such a piece of work?’ and also an epic alien invasion story. It all begins with a late-night phone call and a ward full of coma patients who wake up only to talk to the dead. Meanwhile, as part of our mini-celebrations of Queen Victoria’s bicentennial year, we’ve another look at the early days of Torchwood. As a voice starts to predict the future on a remote island, it’s a chilling blend of Agatha Christie and MR James.”
