Breaking Down the ‘Roswell, New Mexico’ Season Two Trailer

Share:

Roswell, New Mexico fans have eagerly waited for a look at season two! First we were treated to the first stills of the season and now we finally have a season two trailer. Check it out below as we watch the trailer and break down some of those pivotal moments!

There is no doubt that season two is going to be just as action packed as the first. We hear Liz confirm that Max is dead, there is a very curious Sheriff and a not-so-normal Rosa Ortecho has returned to Roswell. Isobel is arming herself by strengthening her powers and Michael hints at a possibly missing (or even abducted) Maria. So what do we know so far from the trailer?

Well, Max Evans is sadly, definitely dead. Liz confirms it as we hear her voiceover try to explain the circumstances to Rosa. We also know that Max isn’t reported as dead to the town. Sheriff Valente is seen questioning Liz regarding Noah’s mysterious death the night of the storm. Does this mean Max has now taken Rosa’s place in the pod while they try to decide how to resurrect him (or if they even can)?

Perhaps it is Max in his pod who Isobel is visiting in the above still?

We also see Rosa meeting Kyle again, so Liz will definitely be letting some people in her inner circle in on Rosa’s resurrection. How many people she will reveal the truth will be something to watch for in the coming season. Rosa is in for one heck of a wake up as she tries to adjust to everything that has happened in the previous decade.

We also see a very distraught Liz crying in the shower. It seems Liz is in for a rough season as she mourns the loss of Max, tries to adjust to Rosa’s return (maybe even hiding it from their father), a possibly missing Mimi DeLuca, and so much more. Season two is shaping up to be a difficult one.

The trailer also features a quick shot of Michael Guerin and Alex Manes discussing the disappearance of Mimi. The two speculate on whether she has been truly abducted by aliens. We catch a glimpse of her wandering down a country road at night.

Perhaps she the bright light is headlights or something less terrestrial?

Isobel isn’t messing around when it comes to her powers. We see her practicing and getting really good at it too, shattering a glass with only her mind. She also blows out the lights in her living room as she hears Noah shouting in her mind. Is Isobel being haunted by the memory of him or is it something more sinister? Will she awaken even more powers this season? We can’t wait to see how her character develops!

In the final shots of the trailer we see that Rosa has Max’s handprint on her chest and almost immediately the Crashdown Cafe jukebox shoots sparks. That’s very similar to Max’s powers, don’t you think? Could she have received a little more than just life from Max?

Liz’s final words are, “Max gave me back the only thing that mattered to me. Now it’s my turn.” What could she be referring to and how far will Liz go to make that happen? Season two is shaping up to be an amazing one! Roswell, New Mexico returns to The CW on Monday, March 16.
