The iconic Cinderella Castle at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom is about to get a royal makeover.

The 70-year anniversary of the release of the Disney classic, Cinderella, will be celebrated this week and Disney has announced that her story has inspired the “bold, shimmering and royal makeover.” Based on the concept art, the castle appears set to have more emphasis placed on pastel pink and gold in it’s color scheme while still maintaining it’s classic blue turrets.

The makeover will begin in the coming weeks and will continue through summer. Guest-favorite attractions such as ‘Mickey’s Royal Friendship Faire’ and the ‘Happily Ever After’ fireworks will continue to run.

This fresh new look of the castle will be completed in time for Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary in 2021. We can’t wait to see the castle’s new look!
