Tom Hiddleston has just been cast as the main character of a new political thriller series, White Stork, for Netflix. The show is produced by Eleven, the production company behind the recent Netflix hit Sex Education.

Hiddleston has a long history of working both on stage and on screen, having just recently finished two stints of the Harold Pinter play Betrayal, and he has just started filming the return of his much loved role of Loki in the coming Disney+ series with the same name. He also earned a Golden Globe win and an Emmy nomination for the most recent series he did, The Night Manager.

White Stork follows politician James Cooper (Hiddleston) as he is running for a seat in the parliament. When Asher Millan is sent to vet him, she quickly discovers that he has skeletons in his closet that could tear everything he has worked for to pieces. The show has been under development for several years now, and was previously titled Spadehead.

White Stork has been given a 10-episode order. The release date is unknown at this time but stay tuned for info as it emerges.
