RJ Watches has once again joined forces with Warner Bros. Consumer Products for a collection of RJ X Batman Villains. Their first Batman watch collaboration in 2014 was a success with both watch and DC Comic enthusiasts that they channeled the dark side of Gotham once more. Each watch will be a limited edition, with only 100 of each made, so act fast to get yours!
The Joker has been around since the first edition of the DC comic in 1940. He is a criminal mastermind with a twisted sense of humor. This calculating clown inspires the watch with design cues from his character throughout, from razor-tipped playing cards, face make-up, and overall aesthetic of the comic villain.
The Creative Director and RJ Watches CEO, Marco Tedeschi had this to say about the collaboration.
“It is a statement of confidence in RJ’s place in both popular culture and watchmaking that Warner Bros and DC Entertainment have collaborated with us to bring their most infamous villains to life as rare, limited edition collectors’ watches. The villains of the DC Comics universe have always appealed to audiences around the world for their evil brilliance and ability to shock and thrill in equal measure. We believe that our first two DC Comics Villains watches will be a fitting tribute to their spirit of anarchy and disruption.”
One of the criminal masterminds of Gotham now has his face laser-engraved on the back of the watch on the titanium case. The dial is a reinterpretation of the Joker’s face showing off his signature make-up. RJ Bumpers and precisely shaped lugs, the 45 mm ARRAW case have a titanium bezel which is laser engraved to symbolize the chaotic nature of The Joker. Other features include anti-reflective glass and watch hands styled with an Ace playing card at the tip.
The limited-edition watch also comes with an exclusive The Joker deck of playing cards. Everyone comes with three interchangeable colorful straps – purple, green, and black. The purple and green straps with stitching are to match the hair and outfit of the eccentric character.
