NBC Peacock Reveals First Look at ‘Brave New World’ Adaption

Share:

Several months ago, NBC revealed that its streaming service Peacock would be coming in April 2020. On Thursday, NBC released a first look into the new streaming service with classics, reboots, and original material. Included in the announcement was the brand new TV adaption of the best-selling dystopian novel Brave New World by Aldous Huxley.

The television series is set to be written by Brian Taylor, Grant Morrison and David Wiener and executively produced by Owen Harris, Ellen Kuras, Aoife McArdle, Andrij Parekh and Craig Zisk.

Here’s the formal logline for Brave New World:

As citizens of New London, Bernard Marx and Lenina Crowne have only ever known a rigid social order, a perfect pharmaceutical called Soma, and a culture of instant gratification and ubiquitous sex. Curious to explore life beyond the strictures of their society, the two New Worlders embark on a vacation to the Savage Lands, where they become embroiled in a harrowing and violent rebellion. Bernard and Lenina are rescued by John the Savage, who escapes with them back to New London. John’s arrival in the New World soon threatens to disrupt its utopian harmony, leaving Bernard and Lenina to grapple with the repercussions. The three become entwined in a fraught relationship that awakens them to the dangers of their own conditioning.

Brave New World will also star Hannah John-Kamen, Kylie Bunbury, Demi Moore, Sen Mitsuji, Joseph Morgan, and Nina Sosanya.
