And the Nominees for the 31st Annual Glaad Media Awards Are…

The nominees for the 31st Annual Glaad Media Awards have been announced. These awards bring recognition and honor media for the fair, accurate, and inclusive representation of the LGBTQ community and the matters that touch their lives. It showcases the increase in inclusion and representation that is becoming more prominent in mainstream media, while also reminding us that there is still room for improvement, diversity, education, and to advocate for it become the norm.

Leading the nominations is the streaming service Netflix with 15, HBO has 8, ABC, CBS, and NBC, each with 4, and new streaming service Disney+ with 1.

On Thursday, March 19 the event will be held at the New York Hilton Midtown in New York. The event in Los Angeles, CA will take place on Thursday, April 16 at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills. At the LA ceremony, Janet Mock will get the Stephen F. Kolzak Award, and Taylor Swift will be getting the Vanguard Award. Honorees will be announced soon for the NY award show.
