Gollum is Getting a Makeover in New ‘Lord of the Rings: Gollum’ Game

A recent interview published on EDGE magazine (February 2020, issue 341) with Daedalic Entertainment revealed information about The Lord of the Rings: Gollum game based on The Lord of the Rings novels by J.R.R. Tolkien.

Gollum won’t look like he does in the award-winning trilogy movies directed by Peter Jackson, since the game follows Gollum in the events between The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring.

In this game, it’s not just choosing to be Sméagol or Gollum, because for Gollum as an entity, it’s not that easy. Each personality is being attacked by the other, so each has to defend himself. Since Gollum talks to himself all the time, it will give the player direct guidance about navigation.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum game has been described as a stealth/adventure game and has been confirmed for a 2021 release date for PC and next-generation consoles such as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
