A new sci-fi adventure series will be premiering in the first week of January 2020. Endlings is created by Emmy Award-winning executive producer and director J.J. Johnson (Odd Squad), produced by Sinking Ship Entertainment, and in partnership with CBC and Hulu.

The first season of Endlings is 12 episodes and will premiere on CBC and CBC Gem streaming service on Sunday, January 5, 2020, with back-to-back weekly episodes. Then all 12 of the episodes will be available on Hulu on Friday, January 17, 2020.

The story of a group of four foster teenagers takes place 20 years in the future. After an elephant named Tuko becomes the last one in existence, or what biologists are calling an endling, something happens. An alien that is going around the universe on an intergalactic quest to save the last member of near-extinct species crash lands on earth, and at the foster home, the teenagers live with their foster dad. As a result, the species the alien has saved so far are let free in the fields and wilderness around the farm property. The teenagers band together to keep these creatures from the local police, Tuko’s caretaker, and a secretive industrialist.

“Along the way, four discarded teens discover that “endling” doesn’t have to mean the end; it can also mean a new beginning.”
