Universal Studios Hollywood’s “Running Universal” Race Featuring ‘Trolls’

Universal Studios Hollywood kicks off its newest “Running Universal” race with a tribute to DreamWorks Animation’s Trolls on Sunday, April 26, 2020. The run includes a 5K, 10K, and Kids’ 1K Race where guests navigate their way through the theme park as well as parts of the famous backlot. Runners will be joined by characters from the 2016 animated blockbuster and the upcoming sequel, Trolls World Tour. Characters include Poppy (voiced by Anna Kendrick in the films), Branch (voiced by Justin Timberlake) and Guy Diamond. There will also be other DreamWorks Animation characters from Kung Fu Panda, Madagascar and Shrek.

Registration for the event is open now and spots are limited. Information on run times, ticket packages, and registration can be found at the Running Universal Hollywood website. Ticket packages available are Standard, VIP and Play All Day, which includes one-day admission to Universal Studios Hollywood. All packages include complimentary parking and post-race refreshments and beverages. Participants will also receive a collectible Trolls drawstring backpack, a “Running Universal” T-shirt and finisher medal. The race will conclude at Universal CityWalk with a celebration at the 5 Towers Stage.

“Running Universal” launched in May 2019 with its sold out Minion Run and continued with the Jurassic World Run” in November 2019. Universal Orlando Resort will host its inaugural Running Universal Epic Character Race 5K and 10K on February 1-2, 2020. Trolls World Tour is the sequel to DreamWorks Animation’s 2016 hit Trolls. The film will be in theaters April 17, 2020 with both Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake reprising their roles.

In an adventure that will take them well beyond what they’ve known before, Poppy (Kendrick) and Branch (Timberlake) discover that they are but one of six different Trolls tribes scattered over six different lands and devoted to six different kinds of music: Funk, Country, Techno, Classical, Pop and Rock. Their world is about to get a lot bigger and a whole lot louder.

The film also features the voice talents of Rachel Bloom, Ozzy Osbourne, and James Corden, with a large group of musical talents like Mary J. Blige, George Clinton, Kelly Clarkson, and many more.
