According to Deadline, the CW managed to rope in and tie down the new reboot of Walker, Texas Ranger starring Supernatural‘s Jared Padalecki.

After the 15-season run of Supernatural is completed, Padalecki is slated to don his boots and chaps and get to work starring as Cordell Walker in the reimagined version of the 90’s classic. Written and executive produced by Anna Fricke and co-executive produced by Padalecki and Dan Lin, this re-telling is said to be similar to the original in theme and backstory, but instead have Walker with a new female partner for the first time.

Though not officially confirmed for pick-up, speculation has the new show looking to be placed within The CW’s 2020-21 lineup.

We are all looking forward to watching the Texas native get back to his roots on Walker‘s new home, The CW.
