Attendees at New York Comic-Con (NYCC) had the opportunity to go to a panel about a new limited series debuting on FX in the Spring of 2020, called Devs. The eight-episode long show is the anticipated television debut of Alex Garland (Annihilation).

The show focuses on Lily Chan (Sonoya Mizuno), a software engineer that works for a company called Amaya, a cutting-edge tech company in Silicon Valley. After her boyfriend’s apparent suicide, she starts to investigate because she suspects there was foul play. During Lily’s search, it leads her to Forest (Nick Offerman), the CEO of Amaya and Devs, the secret development division. There she uncovers a conspiracy that could change the world.

During a panel discussion that featured Garland, executive producer Allon Reich, and cast members Sonoya Mizuno (Lily), Jin Ha (Jamie), Zach Grenier (Kenton), Stephen McKinley Henderson (Stewart), Cailee Spaeny (Lyndon), and Kari Glusman (Sergei). He talked about creating his first project for television,

“On a personal level, I thought, ‘maybe television is a better home for me.’ And on a writing level, I wanted the eight hours…I feel like everything I have learned up to this point I have put into the show. I couldn’t love it more.”

Fans were also treated to an extended sneak peek of the series that included two pivotal scenes inside the Amaya Corporation’s top-secret Devs building.
