The Psych movie sequel premiere date has been pushed back from late 2019 to 2020. The movie is making the move from its previous home on the USA Network to debut on NBCUniversal’s brand new streaming service, Peacock, which is set to launch in April 2020.

The sequel has been given an adorable title: Psych 2: Lassie Come Home. A reference to the character Police Captain Carlton Lassiter played by Timothy Omundson, whose role in the previous movie had to be severely limited due to health reasons.

Check out the official synopsis released for the sequel:

“In a vintage Psych-style Hitchcockian nod, Lassie begins to see impossible happenings around his recovery clinic. Shawn and Gus return to the Chief’s side in Santa Barbara and are forced to navigate the personal, the professional, and possibly the supernatural. Separated from their new lives in San Francisco, our heroes find themselves unwelcome in their old stomping grounds as they secretly untangle a twisted case without the benefit of the police, their loved ones, or the quality sourdough bakeries of the Bay Area. What they uncover will change the course of their relationships forever.” -USA NETWORK

The cast will feature James Rodey (Shawn Spencer), Dulé Hill (Burton ‘Gus’ Guster) Timothy Omundson (Carlton ‘Lassie’ Lassiter), Maggie Lawson (Julie O’Hara), Corbin Bernsen (Henry Spencer) and Kirsten Nelson (Karen Vick).
