IDW Publishing is Headed to New York Comic Con

IDW Publishing, which has a diverse collection of comic books, graphic novels, and art books such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Locke & Key, and Transformers, is headed to New York Comic Con! They will have five different panels throughout the four days of NYCC.

Thursday, Oct. 3

DW Publishing: Graphic Novels — An Inside Look!

2:45 p.m. – 3:45 p.m., Room 1A02Javits Center

Graphic Novels are breaking barriers at every turn, from exciting new licensed initiatives to long form original content. IDW Publishing is uniquely poised to explore these publishing opportunities thanks to our incredible partnerships and creator relationships. Join Justin Eisinger, IDW Editorial Director Graphic Novels & Collections, and co-author of They Called Us Enemy, for a far-ranging discussion on the many upcoming book projects IDW has in the works for audiences of all types. Special Guests to be announced.

Friday, Oct. 4

IDW Publishing: 20 Years & Beyond!

1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m., Room 1A02Javits Center

Revealing behind-the-scenes secrets of your favorite IDW comics—Locke and Key, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Transformers, Sonic the Hedgehog, and more! Be the first to know about upcoming projects by the most exciting creators around! Ask the questions you’d only dreamed of asking to Editor-In-Chief John Barber and a host of fan-favorite writers and artists—plus some who soon will be!

Innovation in the Indie Comics Industry with Impact Theory Comics, Vault Comics, TKO Comics & IDW Publishing

7:45 p.m. – 8:45 p.m., Room 1A18 – Javits Center

Innovative comic book publishers Tom Bilyeu (Impact Theory CEO), Damian Wassel (Vault Comics CEO), Tze Chun & Sebastian Girner (TKO Co-founders) and David Hedgecock (IDW Associate Publisher) host an in-depth panel to discuss their modern approach to revolutionizing the indie comic book industry.

The candid discussion will cover how they are partnering with top creators and artists, exploring genres and increasing diversity, securing new distribution platforms, cultivating IP, updated marketing tactics as well as exclusive news about new projects from each studio.

Key creative members will also join including heralded writer Michael Moreci (Wasted Space, Black Star Renegades) who will give his unique perspective as a creator. World renowned South Korean artist Kim Jung Gi (Superani) will give a live sketch demonstration of his Neon Future variant cover as well as answer questions about his professional process.

An audience Q&A will give novice and professionals the opportunity to ask key decision makers about breaking into the industry, what each studio is looking for, fan favorite titles and more.

The critically acclaimed slate of titles from each studio includes Impact Theory’s Neon Future, Vault Comics’ The Plot, The Necromancer’s Map, Wasted Space, and Mall, TKO Comics’ Sara, The 7 Deadly Sins, and The Fearsome Doctor Fang, and IDW Publishing’s Wynonna Earp, 30 Days of Night and Locke & Key.

IDW Publishing: Artist’s Editions & More!

3:45 p.m. – 4:45 p.m., Room 1B03 – Javits Center

IDW’s award-winning Artist’s Edition series has spawned a cottage industry of oversized art books, but Editor Scott Dunbier will give you the lowdown on why you should accept no imitations! And, besides info on future Artist’s Editions, we’ll take a look at other beautiful art books in your future. Join Scott, along with IDW guru-in-residence Dirk Wood, plus a special guest or two, for an hour of great art, crazy anecdotes, and maybe even an announcement or two!

Sunday, Oct. 6

IDW’s Kids’ Comics!

10:45 a.m. – 11:45 a.m., Room 1B03 – Javits Center

Ever wonder what it takes to make an all-ages comic? Ever want to try your hand at making your own? What better way to learn, than from the publishers of My Little Pony, Care Bears, Goosebumps, TMNT, and so much more! Join IDW Publishing, and a bunch of special-guest kids’ comics creators for a behind-the-scenes look at how your favorite comics are made! It’s sure to be a morning full of fun activities, secret surprises, and much, much more! And bonus: a free comic for every kid in attendance!
