While fans of the popular Starz time-traveling drama Outlander wait for season five, set to air early in 2020, they learned some exciting news. Sam Heughan, who stars as Jamie Fraser in the series, is launching his own whiskey brand, which appears to be appropriately named “The Sassenach”.

On August 17, 2019 Heughan posted on his twitter the brand’s logo, which reads “The Sassenach Unique Spirits,” and features the national animal of Scotland, a unicorn.

The whiskey is part of Heughan’s new business, Great Glen Company. The project has been in the works for several months. Back in May, Heughan took to social media to share a behind-the-scenes look on the process, and in June posted a picture of several different whiskey’s to his Instagram.

The logo is the brand’s latest development, but the release date for the whiskey has yet to be shared. You can watch a teaser video and sign a form to sign up for a news letter at Sassenachspirits.com .
