With the official Disney Fan Club’s Expo, D23, coming up, the announcements of exclusive premieres and teasers are starting to pour in. Today, Disney announced that attendees will be given an exclusive first look at National Geographic’s new series The Right Stuff during the expo.

According to D23.com, the series will be based on the novel of the same title by Tom Wolfe, which told the story of the Mercury 7 astronauts. Set during the Cold War, it follows a group of astronauts and scientists on their way to becoming the first human beings in space. It started production in July of this year and will premiere on National Geographic in 2020.

Working on the series, among others, will be Jake McDorman (What We Do in the Shadows, Lady Bird), Colin O’Donoghue (Once Upon a Time) Aaron Staton (Narcos: Mexico, Castle Rock), Michael Trotter (Underground, The Evening Hour), Micah Stock (Brittany Runs a Marathon, Escape at Dannemora) and James Lafferty (The Haunting of Hill House, Small Town Crime).

At the expo, fans will have the opportunity to meet the cast at autograph sessions. There will also be a Q&A panel, and of course, a first look at the early days of producing the series.

Conny joined her first fandom at the tender age of three and somehow never stopped finding new things to obsess about and love. Her current love is everything Marvel, especially two characters who tend to be frozen at one point or the other. From Drag Race to Harry Potter or musical theatre, as long as it makes her smile (or cry), it’s probably her thing.
