A new supernatural martial arts show is coming to Netflix. The ten-episode first season of Wu Assassins will premiere on the streaming service August 8.

The show follows a young San Francisco chef Kai Jin (Iko Uwais) who works in the city’s Chinatown. One night he hesitantly becomes the Wu Assassin, the chosen one who now has the mythical power of 1000 monks. Along with his new supernatural powers and ability to transform his appearance into one of the Monks (Mark Dacascos), Kai must use his new heightened martial art skills to go up against the Triad. The only catch: the head of the Triad trying to steal the mythical Wu Assassin powers and destroy the world is Kai’s father.

The series will feature Katheryn Winnick, Byron Mann, Li Jun Li, Lawrence Kao, Lewis Tan, Celia Au, Tommy Flanagan, and more.

Wu Assassins premieres on Netflix on August 8, 2019. Watch the trailer below!
