Another San Diego Comic-Con is upon us, and we’re back to show you what panels we think you should check out on Thursday and Friday! The schedules for Thursday and Friday were just released, and feature some of the fandoms we love covering like Supernatural.

Thursday, July 18

Terminator: Dark Fate

Evil Exclusive Screening and Panel

Evil is a psychological mystery that examines the origins of evil along the dividing line between science and religion. The series focuses on a skeptical female psychologist who joins a priest-in-training and a carpenter as they investigate the Church’s backlog of unexplained mysteries, including supposed miracles, demonic possessions, and hauntings. Their job is to assess if there’s a logical explanation or if something truly supernatural is at work. Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

His Dark Materials Panel and Q&A Session

Adapting Philip Pullman’s award-winning trilogy, which is considered a modern masterpiece of imaginative fiction, His Dark Materials follows Lyra, a seemingly ordinary but brave young woman from another world. Her search for a kidnapped friend uncovers a sinister plot involving stolen children and becomes a quest to understand a mysterious phenomenon called Dust. The series is executive produced by Jane Tranter, Jack Thorne, Julie Gardner, Tom Hooper, Toby Emmerich, Deborah Forte, and Dan McCulloch. Cast panelists include Dafne Keen as Lyra, James McAvoy as Lord Asriel, Lin-Manuel Miranda as Lee Scoresby, and Ruth Wilson as Mrs. Coulter. The Her Universe Fashion Show

Hosted by actress and Her Universe founder Ashley Eckstein.

Psychology of Cult TV Shows: An Annual Review

Legacies Special Video Presentation and Q&A

Continuing the tradition of The Vampire Diaries and The Originals, Legacies is the third installment of this supernatural series about witches, vampires, and werewolves. Legaciesfollows 17-year-old Hope Mikaelson, daughter of Klaus Mikaelson, along with Alaric Saltzman and his twins at the Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted as they come of age in the most unconventional way. Returning for its second season in the fall of 2019, the series will pick up immediately following Hope Mikaelson jumping into the pit to save Landon and erasing herself from everyone’s memories. Series stars Danielle Rose Russell, Aria Shaghashemi, Kaylee Bryant, Jenny Boyd, Quincy Fouse, and Matt Davis, as well as executive producers Julie Plecand Brett Mathews, will give attendees a special video presentation followed by a Q&A. Game of Thrones Panel and Q&A Session

Martin, HBO’s Emmy- and Golden Globe Award–winning series Game of Thrones concluded its eight-season run on May 19, with the finale setting records for HBO for both a single telecast and premiere night viewing. The drama series was executive produced and written by David Benioffand D. B. Weiss. cast panelists include (in alphabetical order) Jacob Anderson as Grey Worm, John Bradley as Samwell Tarly, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as Jaime Lannister, Liam Cunningham as Davos Seaworth, Nathalie Emmanuel as Missandei of Naath, Iain Glen as Ser Jorah Mormont, Conleth Hill as Varys, Maisie Williams as Arya Stark, and Isaac Hempstead Wright as Bran Stark. Miguel Sapochnik, who won an Emmy for directing “Battle of the Bastards” in season 6 and who also directed several other landmark episodes of the series, also joins.

TV Guide Magazine Fan Favorites 2019

Fandoms unite! The official magazine of TV returns to celebrate its 10th annual all-star, must-see event. Moderated by senior writer Damian Holbrook, Fan Favorites brings together stars from TV’s hottest shows for a lively discussion filled with behind-the-scenes scoop, fan-encounter tales, and of course, ‘ship talk! Panelists (subject to change) include cast members from Fear the Walking Dead, Lucifer, Legends of Tomorrow, and maybe even some surprise ones!

Don’t Dream It’s Over: What Fandoms Do When Long-Running Stories End

In the next year, many fandoms are facing an end of the universes they love (or at least the current storylines within those universes): Supernatural, Game of Thrones, and Arrow are leaving TV; Star Wars and Marvel’s long-running sagas are winding down. A mix of fans and pros, including Flourish Klink (Fansplaining), Lynn Zubernis (Family Don’t End with Blood), and Craig Titley (executive producer/writer, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) discuss how fandoms continue after the “official” stories wrap up through meet-ups and cons, transformative works and meta—and how fans can support their favorite off-the-air stories to encourage sequels, spinoffs, and reboots.
