Monthly Video Game Releases : July

After all the exciting announcements from the press conferences at E3 2019 – which you can read here – this month is a bit calmer for brand new releases, but there are still a lot of games coming in July!

Regardless of the platform you use, Play Station 4 (PS4), Xbox One (XBO), Nintendo Switch (NS), etc., there is a game for you to enjoy. Check out this list of some of the anticipated video games to be released next month!

July 2

Apex Legends Season 2 (PS4, XBO)

Choosing from outlaws, soldiers, and misfits, players must survive combat and think fast if they want to become a legend. Season two will see a new female legend named Wattson and machine gun weapon called the L-Star. The Outlands may have more resources, but at what cost?

 

Red Faction: Guerrilla Re-Mars-tered Edition (NS)

Set fifty years after the previous two games, Red Faction and Red Faction: Guerrilla, players fight to liberate from Earth Defense Force as they try to take over Mars. Players can choose who, when, and where to fight to save their home.

 

July 3

Just Cause 4: Los Demonios DLC (PS4, XBO)

In the second DLC released, Rico – with his new demon killing crossbow, goes up against ancient demon forces that have invaded Solis. Players will find new challenges and weaponry to elevate the playability.

 

July 4

Stranger Things 3: The Game (PS4, XBO, NS)

This game was developed and published in collaboration with Netflix as the official game that goes along with season three of the series. Fans can go on adventures, solve puzzles, and fight in places similar to what they’ve seen in the show. With 12 characters to choose from, there’s a little something for everyone.

 

July 5

Sea of Solitude (PS4, XBO)

Sea of Solitude is as ominous as it sounds; it is a place where lonely humans turn into monsters. Players set sail and encounter the unknown while learning of a young woman’s loneliness. They meet creatures, monsters, solve challenges and ultimately discover what it means to be human.

 

Attack on Titan 2: Final Battle (PS4, XBO, NS)

This is an updated expansion package of the previously released game. It includes over 40 characters, new weapons, and scenarios that come from the third season of the anime show. There are two battle modes players can choose from, one to do alone and one with their squad.

 

July 9 –  

Bear With Me: The Complete Collection (PS4, XBO, NS)  & Bear With Me: The Lost Robots (PS4, XBO, NS)

This collection includes every episode of the noir game. Players will solve puzzles, interrogate, and go on adventures along with Flint, his sister Amber and Ted E. Bear. Separately Modus games will be releasing a prequel chapter called The Lost Robots. A new chapter, just as dark as the rest, to add more adventure and new characters! (Note: PC release is scheduled for 7/31!)

 

July 12

Dragon Quest Builders 2 (PS4, NS)

Going up against the children of Hargons, worshipers of ancient evil, players along with Malroth, fix and rebuild their world with the help of villagers. Finding materials and plans during adventures is the name of the game but don’t forget to defend it from the monsters.

 

God Eater 3 (NS)

Unknown life forms called Oracle cells start to consume all life on earth. Immune to every attempt so far to stop it, everyday humans get closer to extinction. Living weapons that have some Oracle cells called God Arcs are their only hope. Players create their own character and fight to save humankind.

 

July 16

The Sims 4: Island Living expansion (PS4, XBO)

A sunshine paradise on Sulani is waiting for your Sims. Players can relax by the water, befriend a dolphin, work at a surf shop, and live it up!

 

July 18

Etherborn (PS4, XBO, NS)

This puzzle game has a beautiful atmosphere and a soundtrack to go with it. Players guide a voiceless body as it searches for meaning to its existence through each level and the increased difficulty that comes with it.

 

July 19

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order (NS)

Super Heroes assemble! Choose from Captain Marvel, Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, X-Men and more. Your mission is to defeat Thanos and The Black Order. Players can use the superpowers that come with their team and play on their own or with others online for an awesome multi-player experience.

 

July 25

Songbird Symphony (PS4, NS)

Sing to the critters that live in the forest while learning new notes to win battles of song. As Birb, players can solve puzzles that reveal sounds to add to the rhythm.

 

July 26

Fire Emblem: Three Houses (NS)

War is approaching Fodlan, where the order is kept by the Church of Seiros and the Officers Academy. Players teach one of three houses (The Black Eagles, The Blue Lions, and The Golden Deer) and lead their students in their academic lives and prepare them for battles. As the story goes on your choice in house and class influence where you are when war does arrive.

 

Kill La Kill – If (PS4, NS)

This action fighting game is based on the popular anime series and features the series characters with their original voices from the show. Players can fight original scenes and challenge their opponents in new stories.

 

Wolfenstein: Youngblood (PS4, XBO, NS)

Set nineteen years after the first game, BJ’s twin daughters, Jess and Soph Blazkowicz are called to battle. Players go on missions to earn new abilities, weapons, and more to go along with their styles. The game features a new base deep in Paris where you plan your attacks on the Nazi regime.

 

July 30

Mutant Year Zero: Seed of Evil (PS4, XBO, NS)

This expansion picks up where its predecessor ended. There are new locations and a new character, veteran stalker Big Khan the moose. Players try to solve the mystery of where the roots that have taken over the Ark came from.
