Video Games Being Released in May

Video games are more prominent than ever. 2019 will see long-awaited sequels, reboots, and new series available on multiple platforms. Also, this month in Los Angeles, California is the LA Games Conference taking place May 7th.  This conference features influential decision-makers in gaming, where they network and discuss where games are going.

Regardless of the platform you use, PlayStation 4 (PS4), Xbox One (XBO), Nintendo Switch (NS) etc., there is a game for you to enjoy playing.

To keep track of all the new video games, here is a list of some anticipated video games released in May.

May 7

 

For The King (PS4, NS, XBO)

This single-player roleplaying adventure takes players to different realms to bring back peace to Fahrul. Some experiences included are “Into the Deep,” “Hildebrants Cellar,” “Frost Adventure,” and more.

 

The Legend of Heroes: Trials of Cold Steel II (PS4)

In this sequel, Rean is in his hometown, one month later and soon after Princess Alfin and his sister Elise are kidnapped. Players must save them and put an end to the war, where certain events and choices players make give different outcomes.

May 9

 

Life Is Strange 2 – Episode 3: “Wastelands” (PC, PS4, XBO)

Follow two young brothers, Sean and Daniel, as they go to Puerto Lobos, Mexico after the sudden death of their father. Seeing his father killed, Daniel’s scream sets off a shockwave that kills the officer. So, they flee.

May 14

 

A Plague Tale: Innocence (PC, PS4, XBO)

Hunted by Inquisition Soldiers and swarms of rats, players try to survive against the odds and find purpose.

 

Rage 2 (PC, PS4, XBO)

In this first-person shooter game, players are the ranger Walker, who can bring the pain and mayhem with weapons and abilities. This world is full of dangerous mutants, since a lot of humans died when an asteroid hit it.

May 16

 

Bubsy: Paws on Fire! (PS4, NS, PC)

Oinker P.Hamm is determined to capture all animals. Bubsy is out to stop him and save the animals, but mostly himself. Players will have four characters to choose from, over 100 levels, different worlds, and three boss battles.

May 17

 

Guilty Gear (PS4, Switch)

In this one-on-one battle game, players try to empty their opponent’s life gauge by using the skill set of their character.

 

Steven Universe: Save the Light & OK K.O.! Bundle (PS4, Xbox One, Switch)

Steven, Garnet, Amethyst, Peal, Greg, Connie, and Peridot use their abilities to fight the bad guys and find the stolen Prism.

May 21

 

Observation (PC, PS4)

In this sci-fi thriller, players try to find out what happened to the crew and Dr. Emma Fisher. Players are the station’s artificial intelligence S.A.M.

 

Team Sonic Racing (PS4, Xbox One, Switch, PC)

How fast can you go? In this kart racing game, players can choose between 15 characters to race in one of three racing classes: speed, power, or technique. There are 21 tracks, and players can customize their vehicles.

May 23

 

TT Isle of Man (NS)

Test your skills and enjoy this recreation of the 37.7 miles of the yearly endurance race. Players can choose from 40 motorcycles and 23 racers as they try to complete the race.

May 28

 

Little Friends: Dogs & Cats (NS)

Meet your new little fur friends. In this first pet training game for Nintendo Switch, players can train their puppies and kittens by taking them for walks, competitions, play time, and they can even accessorize their friends.

May 31

 

Trover Saves The Universe (PS4, PSVR)

Sometimes the best intentions do not go as planned. This funny game has combat, puzzles, and questionable choices. Trover is a monster that is not a fan of working, and he and his friends must try to save the universe. Rick and Morty co-creator Justin Roiland co-founded this game.

 

Warhammer: Chaosbane: Magnus Edition (PC, PS4, XBO)

Full of war and magic, players must face the Chaos hordes and fight to survive. Players can choose from four characters that come with their own skill sets.
