Nerds and Beyond staff writer Britt Knupper was at WonderCon 2019 in Anaheim, California this weekend and was a part of the round table interviews with one of the creators of Deadly Class Miles Orion Feldsott (American Koko), and actors Maria Gabriela de Faria (Yo Soy Franky), and Benjamin Wadsworth (Dad vs. Lad).
In the interview when asked about jaw-dropping moments, Feldsott said, āI mean, if you read the comic book, there are a lot of moments in the comic that are like that. And when we were adapting it, we were trying to make sure that we grabbed all those moments that got folded into the tv show.ā You can tell how staying true to the comic is important to him, even the acid trip animation was panel to panel from the comic book as well.
When asked what they learned about their characters Gabriela de Faria mentions āSo, I donāt know how she (Maria) is going to handle life without Sayaā¦I donāt want to find out.ā
You could see the enjoyment in Wadsworth’s face as he describes his favorite fight scene. āā¦dinner fight scene in episode four, they let me do all my own stuntsā¦jumping table to table and over walls, throwing plates at people and dodging real swords.ā
The only thing Feldsott hinted at for season two was that all our favorite characters are in grave danger.
Deadly Class revolves around Kingās Dominion, which is an elite private school that trains its students, who come from crime families, to become assassins.
