Warner Bros. Studios released a teaser trailer for its upcoming Joker, set to be released on October 4. And it is riveting!
The film is directed by Todd Phillips and stars Joaquin Phoenix as Arthur Fleck, a down-on-his-luck Gotham man who struggles to find work as a clown. The trailer shows Fleck in various scenarios, such as getting bullied and attacked, arriving at Arkham State Hospital (presumably to seek treatment), and ultimately turning to crime. The Joker’s trademark maniacal laugh is also showcased in the trailer.
Phillips’ film made its debut at CinemaCon in Las Vegas and is described by its director as a standalone origin story.
